Jeremy Wee • Thought i would share some info as i just recently passed my TOGAF (part 1 and 2) exam 2 days ago. My company had enrolled me on the 4 day TOGAF workshop which i did find useful in terms of understanding the ADM, each phase and the various components such as the Enterprise Continuum. I felt that i learnt more doing the self study however as i had more time to absorb the information.
This was how i prepared for the exam.
* Read through the TOGAF 9.1 pocket guide end to end.
* Memorise on a high level, the various parts of each chapter. ie: Part 2: ADM, Part 7, Application Capability Framework etc. This will help you understand the questions in the exam quicker as they seem to make alot of references to the various parts in the book.
* Understand and memorise the various reference models (III-RM) and which phase they are typically used.
* Take note of the inputs and outputs of each phase. ie: Phase A - Statement of Architecture Work, Phase G - Architecture Contract.
* Memorise the frequency of action items in all phases. ie: Gap analysis occurs in B, C, D and E.
Above all, do as many mock tests as you can. Purchasing the mock test from the open group site proved extremely useful for me. It is also included in the Study Guide.

For the questions that you get wrong, review the chapter and identify what you missed out in your previous study session. Dont forget to go through the correct answers as well as you may have got lucky with some of them.
Do note that some of the questions in the site above still references version 9 of TOGAF so use your discretion when answering questions. Some terminologies in version 9 do not apply in version 9.1. For example, the 4 iterations in the ADM.
