Job Description:
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), whose primary role is to acquire, enhance, and maintain financial systems and tools that help enforce the financial policies and laws that govern the District is in search of an Information Technology Specialist. The incumbent will work closely with the OCFO users and other District agencies in analyzing and defining network systems requirements; implementing solutions; planning and tracking projects; and coordinating inter-agency efforts in the areas of networking, infrastructure, security, data management, and inter-operability.

This position works closely with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and other District government stakeholders in the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework. Performs work to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization. Develops reference models of the enterprise and maintaining the information in the IT repository; determines the gaps between the current and the target architecture and developing plans for transitioning to target architecture. Provides enterprise architecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers and IT project team; coordinates and conduction governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture; ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture. Incumbent must have a sound understanding of Information Technology systems, architecture, technologies and infrastructure, in order to review and design information technology systems architecture, provides leadership and guidance to lower level staff, and ensure that OCFO systems utilize latest technologies and IT best practices.
