SENIOR DIRECTOR – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY – ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE

BRUCE POWER, TIVERTON, ONTARIO

This is an incredible opportunity to join Bruce Power, the second largest nuclear generating station in the world, employing some 4,000 people and producing enough electricity to supply all the needs of a city the size of Toronto. We seek to enhance our team through the recruitment of an experienced and talented individual in the role of Enterprise Architecture Manager.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this position is responsible and accountable for the enterprise architecture function, program and processes. The focus of this role will include leading and facilitating the creation of governing principles to guide Enterprise Architecture (EA) decision making and identify and analyze enterprise business drivers to derive useful business context and architectural requirements. This is a senior management position that closely integrates with other IT functions.

Accountabilities

  • Capture the current “As Is” state of the Enterprise Architecture and develop the “To Be” state while working closely with all stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and ongoing refinement of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on the business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Consult with infrastructure development project teams to fit infrastructure to architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.
  • Promote the EA process, outcomes and results to the organization including the enterprise’s IT and business leaders.
  • Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities for EA compliance activities are in place.
  • Lead the development and execution of a communication and education plan for EA compliance
  • Adopt and promote the Bruce Power values, demonstrating leadership in behaviours that support these values.
  • Foster teamwork and a stimulating work environment to ensure a high level of engagement of staff.

Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of leadership experience in a multifaceted business environment (i.e. industrial, manufacturing, highly technical and regulated environment)
  • Knowledge and experience with Information Management practices, governance and all components of holistic enterprise architecture.
  • Ability to translate business needs into EA requirements and ability to estimate the financial impact of EA alternatives.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
  • Exposure to other areas in IT such as project management, business relationship, infrastructure and operations, business intelligence and reporting and solution development is considered an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Experience in leading multifunctional teams is considered an asset.
